Hussam Abuseif is the General manager for Egypt & Sudan for Baker Hughes, a GE company. He brings more than 20 years of diverse experience primarily in the oil and gas industry.
Hussam started his career with Schlumberger as a Field Engineer. During his 14-year tenure there, he held leadership roles across the Middle East and the US. In 2010, Hussam joined Baker Hughes, a GE Company business as the country director of Iraq. In 2012, he was appointed as Vice President Marketing & Sales for the Middle East region responsible for developing growth platforms and sales strategies to expand the company’s presence and commercial footprint.
In 2014, Hussam was appointed as Vice President Operations for Middle East and Assia Pasific Region where he was responsible for financial performance, human capital planning, technology deployment, asset management and major growth opportunities.
Prior to his current role, Hussam was the Executive Integration Integration Leader for Middle East, North Africa & India region, a post he was appointed to in July 2017. In this role, Hussam was responsible for setting organizational structure, harmonization of ERP’s, legal entities mapping and consolidation, working around employees behaviors and perceptions and finally the mechanism in merging two companies (Legacy Baker Hughes & GE Oil & Gas) based on regulations and protocols governed by the stock markets.
Hussam was graduated from the American University of Cairo with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and is also an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
