Salma Al Hajeri is the Reservoir Engineering Director and Egypt Asset Manager at Mubadala Petroleum (MP) Company. Salma is responsible for developing reserves progression strategies, overseeing the performance of the captured assets and directing the operations of MP assets in MECA and SEA. Prior to this role, Salma was the first UAE female to manage a key international project in MP’s SEA business where she was responsible for leading a multi-discipline team in the evaluation of the development options for commercializing multi-trillion cubic feet offshore gas discoveries made by MP in 2013-2014.
Prior to joining MP, Salma worked in ADNOC - Onshore Company (previously ADCO) where she initiated and managed many successful projects like ADCO’s CO2-EOR Pilot Project which is the first CO2 EOR project in the Middle East.
Salma has been recently appointed as an Asset Manager to oversee MP’s portfolio in Egypt which includes 10% stake in Shorouk Block that has Zohr Project, the largest gas discovery ever made in Egypt and in the Mediterranean Sea.
Salma holds a BSc in electrical engineering from U.A.E University, an MEng in petroleum engineering from the Petroleum Institute – UAE, and MBA from Abu Dhabi University. She has been in the oil and gas industry for more than 17 years.
