On 29th, September 2019, Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Reurces, chaired the second meeting of the Higher Committee for the 4th edition of Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2020), to follow up the program of the conference scheduled to be held during the period from 11 to 13 February 2020 entitled "North Africa and The Mediterranean .. Delivering the Energy Needs of Tomorrow".
The meeting was attended by the heads of the international oil companies sponsoring the conference, the officials of the Ministry of Petroleum, the heads of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the holding companies and officials from DMG International Company, which is responsible for organizing the conference.
El-Molla highlighted that there is an increasing interest in EGYPS 2020 as it will include all issues related to the oil industry in general while the participation of international companies in EGYPS conference and exhibition is considered a channel for exchanging experiences and identifying the modern technologies of the petroleum industry in various fields.
El-Molla pointed out that holding the conference serves as a platform to identify the outstanding business outcomes as well as success stories witnessed by the Petroleum Sector, recently, which in turn opens new horizons to attract Arab and foreign investments. Moreover, the conference is a good opportunity to display the measures taken by Egypt to become a Regional Hub for gas and oil trade .
In EGYPS 2020 edition, the conference is expected to witness an increase in the number of countries participating to reach 60 countries compared to 53 countries in 2019 conference. Also, the number of research papers exceeded 800 papers compared to around 700 papers in 2019, this in addition to holding 36 technical sessions.
This year's edition will have sessions specialized in discussing investment and finance at the various fields of Petroleum Industry, in addition to other panel discussions focusing on security, safety and occupational health in the energy sector, the role of women in the Petroleum Sector as well as awards for the distinguished women in the Sector as well as facilities with outstanding standards in security, safety and occupational health.
The conference will also highlight the digital transformation in the petroleum industry and how to get acquainted with the progress achieved by International Oil Companies and its applications in their branches in Egypt.
